Born in the Spanish Harlem section of New York City. Music has always been a major part of her life. Joyce's first real vocal performance was at the age of 10, where she sang her rendition of "Winter Wonderland" during a grade school Christmas show. Remaining surprisingly impressed by her vocal skills at such a young age her music teacher encouraged her to continue developing and training her voice. That was the moment she knew music would remain a major part of her life. At 16 years old Joyce took her teachers advice and entered into one of the most prestigious high schools in New York City, which was introduced to the world in the film "FAME". It was there she began her real studies of music... The Fiorello LaGuardia High School Of The Music and the Performing Arts.

Extremely influenced by diverse genres of music such as R&B, gospel, classical, jazz and Latin music, not to mention that she was born in the same neighborhood as the "Mambo King", the legendary Tito Puente. Her admiration of divas such as Billie Holiday, Etta James, Sarah Vaughn, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Denise Williams and all time favorite, unfortunately not well known internationally, Phyllis Hyman, whom she's been vocally compared to on numerous occasions. These influences have helped her to create a personal style that is respectfully appreciated and admired by her audience.

At the age of 18 during her last year of high school, she met a keyboard player and began singing with his trio in various NY clubs. Here she gained the experience and confidence of communicating with the audience on a professional level.

However, some time after her first year of college she drifted away from music to pursue a modeling career. Standing at 5'10" and being slender had it's advantages. She began her modeling career in 1982 and took her first trip to Europe. She remained in Paris for one year working as a runway model and with much success before returning to NYC. In 1989 she chose to expand her horizons by travelling to Italy.

She relocated to Milan to further her runway career, but was no longer satisfied nor inspired to continue as a model. With the blessings of GOD and the contact of a friend, she was introduced to two Italian musicians who were looking for a female singer and that was the moment she knew she would be back on the right road.

After residing in Italy for many years, she is still currently singing and performing. She's had the opportunity to work with well-known Italian and International artists such as Randy Crawford, Ron, Laura Pausini, Elio e Le Storie Tese, Toto Cotugno, Andrea Mingardi, The Blues Bros. Band, Eddie Floyd, Ronan Keating and many others. She has participated in the “Razmataz” 2002 tour with famed Italian composer/singer/song writer Paolo Conte.

There have also been a number of television appearances on Italian television such as Canale 5, TMC and Rai. She has also expanded into other areas of music such as house/dance and her voice is featured on numerous singles, some of which reached the top European Dance charts.

Her talents have also been featured on a number of commercial and radio jingles and in 1999 she was chosen by the advertising agency B. Communications of Milan to sing the lead on the Christmas jingle for Bauli Panettone di Verona. It was a gospel version of "Silent Night".

During the summer of 2004 she had the opportunity to partecipate as a backing singer for Gloria Gaynor during her 2004 Summer Italian Tour and continues this role during Ms.Gaynors Italian concert dates .

She has also been to The 54° Edition of the Sanremo Music Festival singing backing vocals for Andrea Mingardi and The Blues Brothers Band with the song, E' La Musica.

Joyce continues to dimonstrate her talents performing jazz and more than often is featured in many Jazz Festivals nationally and around Europe.

Not straying far from her gospel roots, she has formed the group Gospel Times who have already proven their excellence at the opening of the Duane Hanson Exhibit " Living Reality" at the Museum of Contemporay Art of Milan and has performed for the mayor of Segrate (Italy) at a benefit show for the commemoration of the Twin Towers Tragedy along with other successful tours in Italy.
